Section 01
Our promise
Confidentiality is the foundation of professional investigation work. Every conversation with CPIS LLP, including the first phone call, is treated under the standing confidentiality commitment set out in this document.
This commitment applies whether or not you ultimately engage us, and whether or not a written engagement letter is in place.
Section 02
Who knows about your matter
Information about your enquiry or engagement is shared on a strict need-to-know basis. Within CPIS, this typically means:
- The senior case handler assigned to your matter.
- The investigators directly conducting fieldwork.
- The principal partner with overall supervisory responsibility.
Section 03
Disclosure to third parties
We will not disclose your identity or the nature of your matter to any third party without your prior written authorisation, except where disclosure is required by law or by a valid court order.
Where you instruct us to coordinate with your solicitor, accountant or HR team, we share only the information specifically required for that coordination.
Section 04
Discreet communications
We use discreet sender names, generic email subject lines and end-to-end encrypted messaging where possible. Calls are made from private numbers, and meeting locations are managed so that clients do not cross paths in our reception areas.
Section 05
Data and evidence handling
Case data is stored on access-controlled, encrypted systems. Physical evidence and original documents are kept in a secured, restricted-access location. On request, we will return or securely destroy original documents at the close of a matter.
Section 06
Staff confidentiality
All CPIS personnel, investigators, support staff and partners, are bound by individual confidentiality undertakings that survive the end of their engagement with the firm.
Section 07
Limits of confidentiality
We will not assist in concealing unlawful conduct. Where we are required by law, by a regulator or by a court of competent jurisdiction to disclose information, we will do so to the minimum extent required and, where lawful, will inform you in advance.
Section 08
Reporting a concern
If you believe that your confidentiality has not been respected, please contact our compliance partner directly at compliance@cpis.com.sg. Every report is investigated under the same confidentiality protocols.
